Annual Christmas Street Collection

 

Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team will be out in Halifax and Keighley Town Centres on Saturday 21st December.  If you see us please pop over and say hello, we will be happy to talk to everyone about the work we do.  We will also have some of our Search dogs with us too!  Who can resist the chance to pet some cute Collies and Springers.

#CALLOUT At 14:23 on Tuesday 26th November Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist in the evacuation of a female who had suffered a lower leg injury while out walking her dog.
 
CVSRT members and YAS paramedic’s arrived on scene at the same time. 
 
YAS provided initial medical care then the casualty was packaged, transferred to a stretcher and carried a short distance to the awaiting ambulance.

#CALLOUT At 11:00 on 18th November Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) members and Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England (MRSDE) dog handlers were assisting our neighbouring Mountain Rescue team, Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team (HVMRT) and West Yorkshire Police (WYP) with the ongoing search for missing Dewsbury pensioner Mr Colin Vasey (89).

#CALLOUT  At 12:07 on 13th November Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with the evacuation of an injured female who suffered a lower leg injury.

CVSRT were first on scene providing initial care and keeping the casualty warm with further medical assistance provided when the team vehicles and equipment were on scene.

The casualty was then transferred to a stretcher and carried to the awaiting ambulance

#CALLOUT  At 14:30 on 7th November Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with the evacuation of an injured female who suffered spinal injuries while out walking. 

Due to the flood alert, CVSRT were on standby and deployed a small team to the incident with additional support from Upper Warfedale Fell Rescue Association who deployed 6 team members to the incident.

While en-route to the incident the team were stood down as YAS had evacuated the casualty to the awaiting ambulance.

#CALLOUT At 11:49 on 31st October Calder Valley Search & Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with an evacuation of a female who had suffered a lower leg injury while out walking. 

16 CVSRT members were available and deployed to the incident. 

While en-route further location information was gathered, using the casualties phone, which determined the incident was within the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA) area. 

CVSRT continued to the incident and supported UWFRA in evacuating the casualty by stretcher to the awaiting ambulance.

#CALLOUT At 15:30 on 27th October Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist in the evacuation of an injured male who had fallen off his mountain bike in Baildon.

15 CVSRT members were available and responded to team vehicles. While on route the team were stood down with the casualty being evacuated by Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA).

At 14:14 on Saturday 12th October we received a request from YAS to assist with a casualty who had fallen while walking near Hippin Bridge, Blackshaw Head, sustaining a lower leg injury.

YAS were first on scene to assess and treat the casualty; on arrival CVSRT packaged the casualty and extracted them approximately 400m by stretcher to the awaiting ambulance for transport to hospital.

At 23:25 on Friday 11th October we received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance service (YAS) to assist the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) in extracting an injured female who had fallen in Hell Hole Rocks near Heptonstall.
On arrival of CVSRT, HART had assessed and treated the casualty who was ready to be transferred to our stretcher and carried to the awaiting YAS ambulance.
