At 00:25 on Wednesday 30th December 2020 Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from West Yorkshire Police (WYP) assist in a search for a high risk missing male on the moor above Hebden Bridge.
 
The casualty was located by WYP who, following CVSRT medical advice, provided initial medical care.  Upon arrival of CVSRT further medical care was provided and the casualty was placed into a warming and protective winter casualty bag and vacuum mattress.  The casualty was then transferred onto a stretcher and onto Her Majesty's Coastguard (HMCG) helicopter for onward travel to the hospital.

At 22:07 on Tuesday 29th December 2020 Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from West Yorkshire Police (WYP) to assist in locating and evacuating a stranded motorist stuck in snow.
 
CVSRT were stood down en-route as the motorist had been able to recover himself and make his way safely home.

At 14:45 on Saturday 26th December 2020 Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with the evacuation of a female who had suffered an ankle injury whilst out walking near Shelf.
 
CVSRT members local to the incident were first on scene and provided initial medical care. On arrival of remaining CVSRT members in team vehicles the casualty was provided pain relief, placed in a warming and protective winter casualty bag then onto a stretcher and carried to the road-head for transfer onto the ambulance.

At 12:03 on Tuesday 22nd December 2020 Calder Valley Search and Rescue (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with the evacuation of a female who became unwell whilst out walking from home near Hill Top Farm, Bingley.
 
YAS were first on scene and provided initial medical care. On arrival of CVSRT the casualty was provided additional clothing, placed in a warming and protective casualty bag, transferred to a stretcher and carried a short distance to the awaiting ambulance.

At 15:20 on Monday 14th December 2020 Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from West Yorkshire Police (WYP) to assist with the search for a high risk missing person in the Wetherby area.
 

Due to the area of the search a joint, co-ordinated response was initiated with our neighbouring team Upper Warfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA).

 
As teams were preparing to deploy we were stood down as the casualty was found safe and well.

At 16:40 on Saturday 28th November 2020 Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from West Yorkshire Police to assist with the locating and evacuating of 2 walkers who had become lost in dense fog whilst out walking near Rishworth.
 
The CVSRT incident leader made contact with the walkers and successfully identified their location to be the trig point at Dog Hill. This location was verified using phone find technology which triangulates a persons location using their smart phone.
 
The CVSRT incident leader requested that the walkers remain at this location and a selected call out was raised with team members tasked to approach the location from either side of the hill.
 
The walkers were sucessfully located at the trig point, provided additional protection from the weather and escorted back to their vehicles.

At 09:51 on Saturday 28th November 2020 Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with evacuation of a male who had collapsed whilst out walking near Scammonden reservior.
 
YAS were first on scene and provided initial medical care.  Upon arrival of CVSRT the casualty was placed onto a stretcher and, with the support of a simple rope system, was safely evacuated to the awaiting ambulance.
