#CALLOUT
At 16:48 on Sunday 11th April 2021 Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with the evacuation of a female who had fallen near Gaddings Dam suffering an ankle injury.
An off duty paramedic was with the casualty at the time of the fall who provided additional clothing and completed an initial medical assessment.
Upon arrival of CVSRT the casualty was provided pain relief, with the injured ankle placed into an immobilising leg splint, and transferred into a warming winter casualty bag along with heat pads and onto a stretcher. Following a tricky decent from near the dam, of approximately 1km, to the road head the casualty was transferred into the awaiting ambulance.
