At 03:38 on Tuesday 27th April 2021 Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from West Yorkshire Police (WYP) to assist with the search for a missing male near Menston.
 
CVSRT and West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) personnel worked together to search key locations in the area.  As the search in these areas was nearly completed a member of the public alerted WYP to a sighting nearby. This thankfully was the missing person who was safe and well when met by WYP.

At 18:26 on Monday 26th April 2021 Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with the evacuation of a male who had fallen near School Cote Brow.
 
CVSRT were stood down en-route as West Yorkshire Fire And Rescue (WYFRS) were able to access the casualty and safely transfer them to the awaiting ambulance.

At 11:44 on Sunday 25th April 2021 Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with the evacuation of a female who had fallen whilst horse riding in North Dean Woods.
 
YAS were first on scene and provided initial medical care and pain relief.  Upon arrival of CVSRT the casualty was packaged into a protective and immobilising vacuum mattress and moved to safer ground and re-assessed by YAS and Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) medical personnel.  Following this assessment the casualty was provided additional pain relief, re-packaged into the vacuum mattress, placed on a stretcher and carried a short distance to the awaiting ambulance.

At 21:17 on Friday 23rd April 2021 Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from West Yorkshire Police (WYP) to assist with the locating and evacuation of a male who had fallen whilst out running near Mankinholes suffering a shoulder injury.
 
CVSRT were first on scene and assisted the casualty off the hill, on foot, to the awaiting ambulance.

CVSRT were first on scene and provided initial medical care and pain relief and placed the injured ankle into an immobilising leg splint.  The casualty was then transferred onto a stretcher and carried to the awaiting ambulance.

At 12:41 on Wednesday 14th April 2021 CVSRT received a request from YAS to assist with the evacuation of a male who had collapsed with chest pain whilst out walking near Ovenden Wind Farm.
 
An off duty police officer who was nearby performed initial CPR, YAA were on scene shortly after who were able to stabilise the casualty.  Upon arrival of CVSRT the team supported YAA in packaging and transferring the casualty onto the helicopter for onward travel to hospital.
 
Thank you to the efforts of the nearby walker and we wish the casualty a speedy recovery.

At 16:48 on Sunday 11th April 2021 Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with the evacuation of a female who had fallen near Gaddings Dam suffering an ankle injury.
 
An off duty paramedic was with the casualty at the time of the fall who provided additional clothing and completed an initial medical assessment.  
 
Upon arrival of CVSRT the casualty was provided pain relief, with the injured ankle placed into an immobilising leg splint, and transferred into a warming winter casualty bag along with heat pads and onto a stretcher.  Following a tricky decent from near the dam, of approximately 1km, to the road head the casualty was transferred into the awaiting ambulance.

At 16:29 Saturday 3rd Apr 2021 Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team (RPMRT) to assist with the evacuation of a male who had suffered a knee injury whilst out mountain biking on the Pennine Bridleway near Calderbrook.
 
CVSRT sent a small team direct from our callout in Elland to the incident. Upon arrival we provided assistance transferring the casualty onto a wheeled stretcher and evacuating him to a nearby farm and the awaiting ambulance.

CVSRT were first on scene and provided initial medical care and pain relief. The casualty was transferred into an immobilising vacuum mattress, onto a stretcher and carried approximately 500m out of the woods to the awaiting ambulance.

At 13:06 on Saturday 3rd Apr 2021 Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) received a request from West Yorkshire Police (WYP) to assist with the evacuation of a male who had suffered a shoulder injury following a fall at Havok Bike Park, Todmorden.

CVSRT were first on scene and completed an initial medical assessment. The casualty was then provided pain relief, transferred into an immobilising vacuum mattress, onto a stretcher and carried a short distance to the awaiting ambulance.

Thank you to the staff at Havok for providing additional insulation for the casualty while awaiting our arrival.
