Sunday, 30 April 2017Whilst CVSRT members were on a 4x4 training exercise with fellow MRT’s, Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team received a request from North West Ambulance Service for assistance with an injured male motorbike rider.
Calder Mobile 2 (3 x CVSRT, 2 x BPMRT crew) and RM3 (2 x RPMRT, 1 x BPMRT, 1 x CVSRT crew) were requested to attend due to location from the incident.
All teams were stood down en-route as NWAS were able to deal with incident.

Tuesday, 29 December 2015Calder Valley Search & Rescue Team and Oldham Mountain Rescue Team joined forces to assist a walker with breathing difficulties and chest pains.
The gentleman was part of a walking group who were approaching the trig at Blackstone Edge when he became ill. The casualty’s well-being is always a priority and as the location was on the border of our operational area, both teams were deployed.
Once on-scene, the casualty was treated by North West Air Ambulance (NWAA) paramedics and transferred to the helicopter by team members from Oldham MRT and CVSRT, for the onward journey to hospital:
Both teams stood down and returned to their respective base.
